Prepping for Departure

Alice is on the mend and we are shifting into gear getting ready for departure this week.  Alice has been sorting and organizing in bursts, and Anne and I have been whipping lines, swabbing decks, replacing locker stops and getting to know one another.   Since we are tied to the fuel dock as transients, work is frequently interrupted by visits from friends, as well as curiosity seekers who want to know where that steel Canadian boat is headed.  Yesterday we met someone who was a co-worker for Robin Know Johnston, the first man to circumnavigate the world solo non-stop back in the 60's.  Anne has taken a few breaks to go surfing, and I'm enjoying some distance swimming along the beach.  I'm enclosing a few photos to give you a flavor of life at the fuel dock.

Anne's dinghy is for sale, with an optional binnacle package as an upgrade: $100 without and $1300 with.
True Blue (Alice's boat) with friends' Vega 27 rafted to it.  A Vega 27 just circumnavigated the Americas...amazing!
Another rainbow - even my wide angle could not get it all.
Anne in cool-down mode after swabbing the decks
The swabbed deck - finally clear of sails and boxes
The cockpit is still a work in progress...
...as is the salon!
Alice sorting her 'jewelry' - our name for boat stainless
Friday night at the races.
